Why?

As discussed in CrossFit “Foudations” under the what is CrossFit link, “CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program designed to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible”.  For the Sailors and Marines currently serving on active duty, and Midshipmen who will become Naval Officers, the ability to perform in all 10 of the physical skills (cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, flexibility, strength, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy) is vital.  Therefore, by utilizing CrossFit, we seek to increase our work capacity across broad times and modal domains in order to be ready for the mental and physical challenges associated with a career as a military leader.

What?

Our mission is to provide a team oriented and competitive physical training environment utilizing the CrossFit methodology of constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity aimed at increasing our work capacity across broad times and modal domains.  We also strive to spread the knowledge of CrossFit to the future leaders of the Navy and Marine Corps.  In short, we are committed to functional fitness and achieving constant self improvement through practice, repetition, execution and competition.

When?

Due to our work week constraints, we train on a 5 on and 2 off programming schedule.  The CrossFit main site offers workouts on the 3 on 1 off programming schedule.  See “workout schedules” for more information on times.
