We did not have enough 5lb. plates so the MOI and Garrett had to use 2.5. They would have done Rx if we had the weight.

Working out at Crossfit SOI at Camp Pendleton. It’s a facility sanctioned by the School of Infantry. A Sgt and a couple of LCpl’s work there as there appointed place of duty and open the place up from 0600-1400. They have everything you need except electricity so music is hard to come but other than that it’s pretty nice.

Sharp, I can’t believe what I’m reading. A CrossFit gym sanctioned by the military that actually has active duty full-time staff? What a sweet gig!
Hooyah, Marine Corps!!

Well, I have to clarify. At one point in time it was officially called Crossfit SOI (and Crossfit Camp Pendleton before that) by the members who started it and that’s what some people still know it by, but I think they stopped paying the CF fees because they no longer have their website up. The official Marine Corps name for it is the Functional Fitness Center. So technically they don’t have a partnership with Crossfit, but it has everything but the name. Check out the link: http://getfit.mccscp.com/?p=344
What a cool place that would be to work.

Concur, Sharp. Who wouldn’t love to be paid an active duty salary to train functional fitness (i.e. “CrossFit”). Love it!
