ENS Tellez doing KB swings

Today was ENS Tellez’s last day.  He has been a member of Crossfit Neptune since its inception in 08′.  He will be moving on to start his path as a commissioned officer and we are all positive it will be a successful one.  Since the beginning of Crossfit Neptune, ENS Tellez has epitomized the word dedication.  Many of you may remember his “wheezing days” while trying to do more than 10 pull-ups.  Now he is a top contender in most WODS and has developed his breathing just fine.  Oh by the way, and he can pump out 20 butterfly kip pull-ups with relative ease.

ENS Tellez, if you put half the effort into being a Naval Officer that you did in Crossfit, you will not have a hard time finding success.  We will miss your witty sense of humor in person and hope you will continue to post your thoughts in the future.

Hello everyone. Just checked out the crossfit gym here in Charleston…garage setting, plenty of gear to go five-six at a time, friendly people. However, with the added heat due to humidity I’ve been sweating my ass off before I even start the WOD. That will take some adjustment but its just as fun and the work I did with you guys paid off for the most part and should make for a very productive workout program for me. So again thank you guys for kicking my ass so i can take more of an ass whooping here.

    ENS Tellez,

It has been amazing to see you progress through CrossFit. I know that what you’ve learned and applied out there on the basketball court will serve you well as you continue on. Enjoy Nuke School, don’t every loose your sense of humor, keep up the workouts, and most importantly continue to be a great father, husband, friend, and Sailor!

    Hollywood,

I have enjoyed our competitions thoroughly and you have earned my sincere respect. Do not stop competing at nuke school.

Down that water bud cuz you are gonna have your work cut out for you here. I’m starting to catch up to ya (I think) and soon I’ll be able to compete with you consistently. See you when you get here.

    ENS Tellez,

It was truly a pleasure serving with you the past three years. We checked in roughly the same day, played on the flag football team each year and started this CrossFit stuff the same week. It has been a real joy to witness not only your success in the classroom but also see it with everything you do. Your hard work and determination could not be more evident than with what you’ve accomplished with CrossFit. It seems so long ago the days where you could barely do one pull-up and appear to have a cardiac arrest after each WOD. But what I will remember most is your commitment, perfect squat and butterfly kip and those smooth double-unders. You made each of those movements look effortless. You are what CrossFit is all about and have set the perfect example for others to follow. You are a class-act and a gentleman and I wish you the best of luck with your future Naval career. I know you’ll go on to do great things and continue to impress people along the way.
