WOD 30JUN09
Posted by admin on June 29th, 2009 filed in WODEverything has to start somewhere. Above is the very first picture of CrossFit Neptune “Newport”. I just finished unpacking all of my equipment and setting up the pull up bar (thanks again YNC), hanging the rings, and deciding where to put everything. It isn’t much, but it’ll do. I miss the group in Tucson tremendously, but you can bet that there will be plenty of sweat and blood laid down on that garage floor. If any of you are ever in Newport for any reason, drop me a line and we’ll go “collectively suffer” out in the garage.

Inspiration: “Anyone who clings to the historically untrue–and thoroughly immoral–doctrine
that violence never settles anything I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of
Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost
of Hitler would referee. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in
history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking
at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with
their lives and their freedoms.” -Robert Heinlein

Looks awesome! But I don’t see much room for a tractor tire.
I’m jealous. I don’t think I’ll be able to afford equipment, so I’ll have to switch to a body-weight workout like TRX ( http://www.fitnessanywhere.com/ ) for a year until I get somewhere with a gym.

Looks like a makeshift interrogation/torture room; It’s perfect!

245 – 255 – 265 – 270(f) – 265
10:42 Rx’d 800s on a track (I’m guessing Tucson’s 800s are slightly long) I did time the 7 rounds seperate and it took 4:32.
The tractor tire will fit just fine once I find one!

Who cares about the tractor tire? The most important piece of equipment is hanging right there on the wall.
Can’t wait to see the new digs.
Love you,
Mom

Well said Mrs. Hollon.
I found out Lowcountry CrossFit operates a second gym a little closer to my apartments in SC. 20 mins isn’t a bad commute, right?
