CROSSFIT ENDURANCE PROGRAMMING
Posted by Admin on May 8th, 2009 filed in Uncategorized
During the normal academic semester, Battalion and Marine PT provide adequate programming at endurance type intervals. When done in conjunction with our 5 on 2 off CrossFit Neptune programming, the athlete receives an outstanding mix of technique fundamentals, strength bias, metcon, and endurance. As my understanding of programming and fitness continues to develop, I’ve started to read a lot about the methodology and programming used by Brian McKenzie and CrossFit Endurance (www.crossfitendurance.com). Throughout the summer, I will be programming 3 workouts from CrossFit Endurance into our weekly programming. Normally these workouts will be programmed on TUE/THUR/SAT in conjunction with our normal WODs, and will consist of 2 interval days, and 1 tempo/stamina day. I will only post the running option for each workout, but CrossFit Endurance offers running, rowing, biking, and swimming. In addition to the endurance workout itself, I will also post the recommend time interval between the WOD and the endurance workout (ie 3 hours after CrossFit WOD). Spend some time on their site and read the methodology and explanation of the abbreviations that they use. Thanks to Brian McKenzie for allowing me to use his programming to help supplement and improve our athletic performance!
